Manchester United are still working on new deals as the new season approaches. United’s pre-season is almost complete, with a clash with Atletico Madrid still to play this weekend, while a separate group will take on Rayo Vallecano. Erik ten Hag’s men have enjoyed a pretty successful summer so far, albeit with a slip up in their last outing, in which they drew with Aston Villa. United’s squad is not complete just yet, though, and the Red Devils will almost certainly add more new faces this summer. With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Old Trafford:

That was despite the 33-year-old striker winning the domestic double in Brazil last season. Costa has been linked with a number of moves over the past seven months, including a shock switch to Championship club Birmingham City. Now the veteran may be returning to his former club in LaLiga, according to Mundo Deportivo. He scored ten goals in 16 outings in the Spanish top-flight for Vallecano during a loan spell back in 2012. Now they have allegedly been in talks with the South American to come back and partner ex-United and Chelsea ace Radamel Falcao in their attack. This fresh report states they have offered Costa a package worth around £70,000-a-week for a one-year comeback.

The Manchester United squad is training hard at Carrington this week, with minds focused on this weekend’s two pre-season friendlies. The Reds will face Atletico Madrid in Oslo, Norway, on Saturday before hosting Real Vallecano at Old Trafford on Sunday. We’d like to remind you that fans can watch both games live in the United App, on or via MUTV. Ten Hag’s team went unbeaten throughout four matches on Tour 2022 and the manager is determined to build upon our encouraging performances this weekend. As such, the squad has been training diligently all week and, on Wednesday, our cameras were granted access to one of Erik’s sessions. Take a look at the gallery of images below to see who was involved.

As you can see in the gallery of images, the likes of Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho were all among the senior Reds taking part in another beneficial training session. The group was also bolstered by a number of players from our renowned Academy and that included young goalkeeper Tom Wooster, who will have learned so much from the experience. Fellow youth products Ethan Laird and Shola Shoretire were involved as well.

The bulk of Man United’s first-team regulars have travelled to Atletico, but there were some notable absentees from the squad, including Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portugal international is allegedly still making it clear to the Red Devils that he wants to leave this summer, but there is a chance that he could be involved in this contest. Raphael Varane, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Eric Bailly and Luke Shaw could feature at the back, while there are likely to be spots in the final third of the field for Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho.

Charlie Savage and Zidane Iqbal both impressed during the club’s pre-season tour and could also feature, while there might be a spot between the sticks for Nathan Bishop. As for Rayo, former Man United striker Radamel Falcao is likely to feature for the Spanish outfit. Falcao represented the Red Devils on loan during the 2014-15 campaign, scoring four times in 29 appearances for the club in all competitions.

Veteran goalkeeper Diego Lopez could start between the sticks, while fellow new signings Unai Lopez and Sanchez will be hoping to feature, with head coach Iraola expected to make full use of his squad. Rayo also have another ex-Man United attacker in their squad in the shape of Bebe, with the Portuguese turning out for the club between 2010 and 2014, making just seven appearances for the English giants.

Rayo Vallecano possible starting lineup:
